Kermanshah’s Taq-e Bostan in photos

The rocky architecture of Taq-e Bostan is located five kilometers from city of Kermanshah in the west of Iran.

Taq-e Bostan, or arch of the garden, is a UNESCO declared heritage site from the Sassanid era in the Zagros Mountains.

The historical monument contains a series of the finest surviving large rock reliefs, which are some of the best-preserved examples of Persian Sassanid era (around the 4th century CE) sculptures.

The area also serves as a lovely picnic place for domestic and foreign tourists who come in large numbers to spend a holiday in this pleasant spot.
